The Story Behind The Biz Academy

When I began Rebar, I focused on selling one-on-one coaching engagements to small business owners. This type of engagement is best suited for companies that have been in business for a few years, have experienced a certain degree of success, and now want to take their business to the next level.

However, as I attended various small business networking events, I constantly met small business owners who wanted help growing their business, but had yet to reach the point where the expense of a “typical” one-on-one coaching engagement made sense for their business.

As I continued to work with more businesses, another pattern emerged. When I began working with a business that had grown large enough that a one-on-one coaching engagement made sense, the first thing we had to do was “fix” the mistakes that were made when they were “too small” to afford getting help.

So I started talking to several small business owners in my networking groups to try to design a program that would meet the specific needs of this group I was calling the True Small Business owners.
